Presenting a 1982 Jeep Wagoneer Limited with only 99,465original miles
Finished in Olympic White with classic “wood grain” trim outside and Nutmeg Brown inside. This clean, rust free and mechanically sound Wagoneer has undergone a recent cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment.
Known as the original Grand Wagoneer, the Wagoneer Limited trim was offered from 1978 to 1983 until AMC Jeep launched the Grand Wagoneer model in 1984 based on the Wagoneer Limited. The Wagoneer Limited was the top-of-the-line model with an AMC 360 V8, Quadra-Trac, three speed automatic transmission, leather upholstery, power disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, AM/FM stereo radio, power six-way driver and passenger bucket seats with center armrest, upgraded door panels, plush carpeting, roof rack, forged aluminum wheels and the iconic “wood grain” trim. This Wagoneer spent a majority of its life inArizona until making stops in Arkansas and Mississippi before being brought toNew Jersey by the current owner. The current owner added it to their private collection primarily to be used in Holiday fashion photoshoots. This Wagoneer will be featured in a prominent fashion brands 2022 Holiday advertisement campaign and was utilized by other professional photographers for Holiday photoshoots.
The exterior shows very well and is finished in Olympic White with “wood grain” trim and chrome front and rear bumpers, window trim and roof rack. The body is straight, solid, rust free and free of any dings and dents. The glass is free of any cracks or chips. The current owner had the aluminum wheels refinished with polished faces and gloss white powder coated inlays and replaced the windshield and gasket, headlights and rings and front turn signal lenses and rear taillight lenses. The prior owner stated they had the Wagoneer painted and maintained the original vinyl “wood trim” and replaced the tires in 2021, which appears to be consistent with the vehicles present good condition. The paint is in excellent condition showing a nice gloss and depth and has a few minor scratches and chips consistent with being driven. The vinyl “wood grain” is in good condition for being 40 years old, with some light fading and a few minor imperfections. The exterior lighting, headlights and turn signals are functional.
The interior is finished in Nutmeg Brown with leather seats,“wood grain” dashboard accents, tan headliner and navy blue seat belts. It maintains original factory Jeep branded floor mats and includes an additional set of recently purchased Jeep branded all weather floor mats. In 2022 the current owner replaced the steering wheel and seat belts, had the dashboard professionally repaired and had an auxiliary three gauge pod installed. The prior owner stated they had the seats recovered, door panels refinished, headliner replaced and the carpet removed and cleaned in 2020, which is consistent with the current good condition. The power windows, power door locks, front power seats, interior lights, windshield wipers, headlights and turn signals are functional. The in dash gas gauge, speedometer and odometer are functional. The oil pressure, voltage and temperature gauges were relocated to the auxiliary pod for accuracy and are functional. The aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM and cassette player is functional. The heat blows hot and the air conditioning blows cold. The original carpet and floor mats and the dashboard show well, but their condition and minor imperfections are consistent with the vehicles age. The digital clock, power mirrors and horn are inoperable.
The Wagoneer has undergone a comprehensive mechanical refurbishment and reconditioning and runs, drives, steers, shifts and brakes well. In 2022 the current owner had anew Holley carburetor with electric choke installed and tuned, replaced the air filter, had the engine timing set, new engine mounts installed and the exhaust repaired with the addition of a new chrome exhaust tip. They also replaced the fuel sending unit, fuel pump, fuel filter, radiator thermostat and gasket and had an auxiliary three gauge pod installed with temperature, oil pressure and voltage gauges. Lastly, they had the engine oil and filter, coolant, transmission, transfer case and differential fluids and battery replaced. The prior owner provided receipts showing the spark plugs and wires, radiator, starter motor and solenoid, ignition and fan clutch replaced and the transfer case was rebuilt, all in 2020. The engine starts on the first turn, idles nicely, runs well with good power and the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears.
This low mileage, clean, rust free, mechanically sound and mostly original Wagoneer shows very well for its age. It is a nicely refurbished and reconditioned above average driver quality vehicle, not a 100 point concours restoration. The vehicle has a clean and clear New Jersey title in the current owner’s name.
