1981 short wheel base, two door Mercedes G-Wagon.

This is a great example of a original first generation G Class. 5 cylinder diesel, 4 speed manual, locking front and read hubs, with the legendary Mercedes G Wagon 4×4 capability. Truck runs well, shifts and drives decently. 5 digit odometer that currently reads at 47,200

This G Wagon is a solid example or an original, unrestored truck. No major rot on the body, and an exceptionally clean frame and undercarriage. The body does look to have been repainted at some point. The finish is great for a trail rig, but for any restoration body work and paint would likely be on the list.

Its been a daily driver in the recent past but would need, at minimum, tires, a water pump and a general tune up. Otherwise, this is a great base for a full restoration, off road build, or classic patina driver. It includes a rare euro spec off road bumper and a decent safari style rack. Interior is present, but would need work to be a restoration piece as some knobs, handles, etc are missing.

Please ask any other questions prior to bidding. This vehicle is registered in Vermont, my state of residence. Due to age, Vermont does not grant a title, and the Vermont registration acts as legal transfer paperwork, along with a bill of sale.
