The Toyota Land Cruiser BJ-40 is a famously tough 4×4 that bears close resemblance to its sibling, the petrol-powered FJ40. These off-roaders are uncompromising, spartan vehicles designed for use in the harshest environments on Earth. The primary difference between the FJ40 and the BJ40 is the engine, the FJ is a gas engine and the BJ runs on diesel. There’s no small amount of debate over which is better but there are fuel economy and reliability benefits of diesel over gasoline. Finished in it’s original shade of Mustard Yellow, this BJ-40 shows well with some minor imperfections visible upon close inspection, paint is recent, but not perfect, however it is perfect for its intended purpose! Both the front and rear bumpers are in decent condition with some signs of age showing. The contrasting white removable hardtop fits tightly on the truck. Trim pieces are all present, with a good finish. Weather-stripping is original with no tearing or shrinkage, but does show its age. Original equipment grey steel split rims are excellent condition with no signs of pitting or rash. Inside, the original gray vinyl front bucket seats and opposing rear bench seats and all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The dashboard is painted body color and presents well, door cards also show well are are the same color as the seat upholstery. In the foot well, newer molded floor-covering covers the floor pans. In the rear of cabin the bench seats can be neatly folded away for more baggage space, or lowered for passenger use. This nicely original BJ40 features, a 3.0L inline 4 cylinder diesel engine, coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission provides smooth everyday driving, but with available locking hub four wheel drive, H2/H4 transfer case shifter this Toyota is ready for some off-roading and tow package for hauling! Also included is a set white spoke 15 inch with “meaty” 31×9.5R15 Firestones!
